Financial Coaching in Gladstone
Practical financial coaching in Gladstone with Coral Jacobs. Understand where your money goes and build a plan that fits your life. $220 per hour.
Sometimes you just need someone to help you work it all out. Maybe you are saving for a first home, or wondering where the money goes every week, or facing a decision you have never had to make before. Maybe you just know something needs to change and nobody ever taught you how to manage money.
You do not need to have the answers before you book. That is what I am here for. I am Coral Jacobs, and alongside the broking side of AJ Home Loans Gladstone I sit down with people across Gladstone, Tannum Sands, Boyne Island and Calliope and help them work out where they stand. I also provide financial coaching to people doing it tough through the Salvos.
What you leave with. A clear picture of where you stand, a realistic plan built around your goals, practical knowledge you keep using, and a straight answer on what to do next.
Sessions run by phone, by video, or in person at 7/30 Tank Street, Gladstone. $220 per hour, and most sessions take about an hour.
What a coaching session actually covers
-
See the whole picture
Income, expenses, bills and accounts laid out plainly, so you can see all of it at once instead of a piece at a time.
-
A budget that fits your life
Realistic and followable, rather than a strict plan that falls apart in week two.
-
Get the obligations organised
Bills, accounts and payments sorted so nothing slips through the cracks while you are not looking.
-
Work out what matters most
Some goals move the needle and some do not. We find the ones that will make the biggest difference to you.
-
Take the pressure off
Find where the cash flow can improve and some breathing room opens up.
-
Talk through the decisions
Which debt to clear first, whether you can afford something. The everyday questions, worked through with someone.
What this looks like in practice
A client came to me after her husband left unexpectedly. He had handled every part of the household finances for their whole marriage. She had children still at home, and overnight she was responsible for all of it, without knowing what bills were due, what accounts existed, or whether her income even covered the household. Some services had been cancelled without her knowing.
- 1
Found every payment before we met
I went through her bank statements first, so I could identify every payment coming out of her accounts and spot anything that had quietly stopped.
- 2
Put the essentials back in her name
We contacted each company together, worked out which services she and the children still needed, and reinstated the essential ones in her own name.
- 3
Categorised the spending, then challenged it
I sorted every expense and flagged the ones that looked too high. She shopped around on utilities and insurance and brought the costs down herself.
- 4
Built a plan she could actually run
We worked out exactly what she could afford and what could come out, then set up separate accounts for spending and saving. The high tech version of the envelope system.
- 5
Reviewed it until she owned it
Over a few follow-up sessions we looked at her spending, found the patterns, made small improvements, and built her confidence to run it without me.
Who financial coaching is for
-
Future first home buyers
Getting the finances into shape before a mortgage application, which is far easier than fixing it during one.
-
After a separation
Managing money solo for the first time, often with a changed income and a lot of moving parts at once.
-
A changed income
Re-entering the workforce, reduced hours, or a move from salary to contract work.
-
Rebuilding
After a job loss, medical costs or an unexpected expense. Starting from where you are, not where a textbook assumes you are.
-
Households under pressure
Families wanting to get on top of the budget and take some stress out of the month.
-
Planning a change
Retirement, downsizing, or helping elderly parents with their finances.

Financial coaching questions
No. Financial coaching is for anyone who wants to understand their finances better, improve their position, or build a practical plan for the future. Plenty of people who come to me for coaching never take out a loan with me.
Ready to get started?
Plenty of people come to me for a loan and turn out to need a few months of getting the finances in order first. If that is you, this is the service that does it, and I would rather tell you that than lodge an application that is not ready.
Financial coaching is $220 per hour, and most sessions take about an hour.
